Permanent Point-of-Purchase Displays

A display is defined as "permanent" if its intended in-store life is 1 year or longer. A wide variety of materials are used to construct permanent displays including wood, plastic, metal, and glass.

Durability and modularity are two characteristics often engineered into permanent designs:

Durability - Because permanent displays are expected to have a service life of at least one year, they must be able to withstand the rigors of the retail environment for that extended period of time.  This includes collisions with shopping carts, hand-jacks, and contact with floor cleaning solutions.

Modularity - Store managers don't like their retail space to become boring. Likewise, consumers appreciate a fresh shopping experience.  Therefore, a good permanent design allows for interchangeable graphics and modular shelving so that new products can be featured in the same merchandising space. Many permanent displays also utilize wheel bases so that the unit can be relocated within a store.
